Parenting is the most important, sacred, and demanding activity of life.  Important because we homo-sapiens have one of the longest periods of development to maturity among living organisms, and we wouldn’t last very long without it.  Sacred because it is the vessel of meaning and self-worth.  With or without words, no voice is louder in our heart and mind as regards the question “Who am I?” than the voice of a mother and a father.   Demanding because there is no manual, no tangible reward, no vacation and little or no short-term appreciation or understanding from those who receive it, our children. Of course, the “short-term” of parenting in our species and in western culture is merely 18 plus years, give or take a few college degrees.

This website is offered to parents in the hopes that by the conversations and information exchanged here you might be affirmed in your importance, refined in your sacredness, and, in some small measure, eased of the demands of parenting by giving you something of a half-decent and trustworthy manual.
