AP is especially committed to supporting adoptive and foster families. The AP Center for Foster & Adoption Support provides a variety of services pre- and post-placement.

Education and Training

The AP Center for Adoption and Foster Support offers parent and agency trainings that cover the science of attachment, how to identify attachment problems (including Reactive Attachment Disorder), and how to facilitate the development of a secure and healthy attachment.

Consultation

Center staff are available to provide consultations to parents, professionals, and other individuals or organizations supporting adoptive and foster families in order to anticipate potential concerns (pre-placement) and to assess and problem-solve concerns post-placement.

Psychological Testing

Center staff are available to provide consultations to parents, professionals, and other individuals or organizations supporting adoptive and foster families in order to anticipate potential concerns (pre-placement) and to assess and problem-solve concerns post-placement.

Individual and Family Therapy

The Center provides in-home and outpatient therapy for families utilizing the Trust-Based Relational Intervention and Circle of Security treatment protocols which are considered the gold-standard of treatment for children with attachment-related concerns.

Support Groups

The Center and it's community partners offer child and parent support groups for families looking to connect, learn, and be encouraged by other adoptive and foster families.
